After finishing last week sock (in the singular form) I had to do something different. I started a fun shawl from Westknits Book 2 that I got when I went to the book signing. Since the designer picked this yarn out for me, I knew it would be a 'bit' more fun than a plain ol' sock. It is. I've messed it up here and there in little spots since I've needed to knit more this week but I'm going with those imperfections. Frogging slip stitches and increases is not any fun. I'll call it a "working on the need for perfection".
I'm still reading Made From Scratch. I like the part memoir and part how-to. Easy and fun to read. I've been reading a lot of my books on the Ipad via Kindle. I think I like to hold an actual book though. I can toss it and grab a child quicker than I can put something electronic down. Plus, it is more appealing to snuggle up to.
What is in your basket this week?
What a pretty pattern! Glad you're enjoying it despite the little frustrations.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the book suggestions - I'll have to check it out!
I find I like to switch between a 'real' book and a kindle depending on my mood. I read the same book you are last year and enjoyed it. I think she has out new book that I need to check out.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for not worrying about imperfections! Have a lovely Wednesday.
I like what you have knitted so far. Glad you are liking the book. Jacinta
ReplyDeleteThat shawl is looking great!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Westknits has some pretty interesting shawl patterns.
ReplyDeleteI've been finding myself reading more and more on the Kindle app for my iPod, though I, too, like the feel of an actual book in my hands.
So pretty! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI like westknits and that is an interesting knitting project, I love the two colors!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from the Yarn Along......Your shawl looks great to me so far! I read that book a little over a year ago. I loved the part(s) on going to the thrift store instead of buying brand new. Oh, and she made me and my kids want to have a hand cranked radio in our kitchen! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to get my hands on a copy of Made from Scratch...I've been reading Jenna's blog for awhile now and I love her writing style. Glad you're enjoying it!
