Last year I stumbled upon Kid's Clothing Week Challenge over at Elsie Marley - a week where you challenge youself to sew one hour a day, each day for 7 days. I was instantly and totally hooked at seeing all of the amazing kid clothing sewing that was going on.
Being one that would actually like to learn to sew *well*, I was and am so inspired.
What I love the most though - were all the awesome BOY clothes! Like everything else little in this world, the most adorable, chic things are girly. Walk into any fabric store and there are oodles of girly fabric and only a few boy-with-some-obnixious-characters fabric.
Watching the pics pop up for the KCWC brought me to many awesome websites to find good fabric and great patterns that I could (can) actually do!
My first project this week were another pair of my favorite little boy pants -Quick Change Trousers by Anna Marie Horner.
I used simple, higher quality quilting fabric for the grey and flannel for the inside layer for warmth. Because Logan is a small guy, he can still easily wear the 18-24m size at a little over 2.5 yrs old with some added length, and with room to grow.
Trying to take a pic of him in these is like putting a cat in a bag - but you can get the idea.
The rest of the week I have plans for more Quick Change Trousers and some of the Kid's Pants Pattern pants in some green jean material. Plus, I've got to frantically finish a pair of knitted pants for a little baby gift. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.
I'm looking forward to seeing what all the amazing sewers are going to make and will be jealous of all their mad skills.
